THE 51-year-old Belgian man arrested as a prime suspect in a Sotogrande double murder was found dead in his Algeciras police cell this morning.
The man was due to attend court today following the murder of his 51-year-old Belgian partner and her nine year old daughter, in a luxury apartment in Sotogrande, San Roque.
The woman had been beheaded while the daughter, believed to be from a previous marriage, was strangled.
The bodies were discovered by the landlord on Wednesday morning, after he went over there to collect the keys from the family, who were due to move out of the rented apartment later that day.
Police found the suspect wandering in a nearby street. He had a number of wounds on his neck.
The cause of the man´s death is not yet confirmed.
