BUDDING golfers wanting to follow in the footsteps of a Major winning champion will have their chance in Marbella soon.

The Villa Padierna Michael Campbell Golf Academy is due to open its doors at Marbella’s Villa Padierna Golf Resort in March.  The 2005 US Open Champion Michael Campbell’s flagship academy will feature a state-of-the-art fitting centre and a junior academy coaching young golfers of all ages and abilities. Michael’s vision will see his junior academy members receive an unrivalled golfing education in technique, psychology, golf specific physical training and nutrition, taking them right up to tour level.

New Zealander Michael Campbell said: “This project, my first academy, is very exciting for me. This game has given me so much and it’s a privilege to be able to give back to the game in this way, helping people learn to play and enjoy this great sport. I plan to set up more academies worldwide and allow as many people as possible access to great coaching.”

Recruited to drive Michael’s vision and sharing his ethos and passion are PGA Professionals Steven Palmer and Daniel Williams. Qualified through the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, Steven and Daniel have over 30 years of coaching experience between them, with vast experience in working with golfers of all abilities up to tour level.

Daniel Williams said:  “Golf has been my passion throughout my life and I have followed Michael’s career from the very beginning. I am truly humbled, alongside my best friend and business partner Steven Palmer, to be directing Michael’s first golf academy. I am also looking forward to working alongside the already amazing team of people here at Villa Padierna and working together to make this the most successful golf academy in Europe.”

Going into the upcoming golf season, Villa Padierna Michael Campbell Golf Academy will also develop a purpose built facility for aspiring tour professionals designed to support those attempting to follow in Michael’s footsteps. Situated at the Tramores course, this facility alongside Michael’s specialist coaches will provide a support system for aspiring tour professionals unlike anything else in the world.
