dogs rescued by police in Almeria
The animals were stuck in the pond located in the Rambla Carcauz and had been there since the previous day. When the local police arrived at the scene, the officers could see that the dogs, although on dry land, could not get out because the sides of the steep sloping pond were covered with plastic making their escape difficult.
The fire brigade were called in along with the Animal Protection group in La Mojonera to help in the rescue.
With the use of ladders and ropes and with a great deal of patience the three dogs were eventually hauled to safety. The Local Police acknowledged the professionalism and sensitivity of members of the fire brigade who acted in this rescue, and the members of the Animal Protection group who assisted, among which was the president herself, Marina Rodriguez Perez. The group did not hesitate to help out, providing food and shelter for the animals.
