TORREVIEJA: Fly tipping costs a fortune.
FOURTEEN of the 27 municipalities that make up the Vega Baja showed a clear decrease in its population in 2013.
According to the latest official figures, these municipalities have lost in the past year 2,641 inhabitants; in an area which has played witness to a population boom in recent years.
Cities such as Torrevieja and the Orihuela Costa have still recorded an increase, mainly with the arrival of Russian and Scandinavian residents, but smaller towns has seen the population fall. Rojales in the past year lost 693 residents; 16.5 per cent of its population. San Miguel de Salinas lost 590 followed by Catral (-435) and Los Montesinos (-160).
