Alfaz shows its commitment

ALFAZ DEL PI recently celebrated the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Local mayor Vicente Arques and councillor Gunilla Herrera met local residents and Alfasinos who live with disabilities.  The day’s events began with a visit to Alfaz’s open-air market where local groups for the disabled sold their art and craftwork.  Arques and Herrera later lunched with members.

It is essential to demonstrate the Administration’s commitment to meeting its social obligations, the mayor declared.  Alfaz’s town hall allocates €500,000 a year for social welfare, training and promoting employment, he pointed out.  “This is the only way to break down barriers.”
