CV-740 ROAD : No more burst pipes or flooding.
THE Teulada-Benitachell water consortium is renewing water pipes at Pou de Lluca. This will guarantee a steady domestic supply for Moraira and Benitachell’s Poble Nou and increase capacity by 77 per cent.
The €244,176 project also involves installing an altitude valve to ensure pumping efficiency.
Better-quality materials will bring to an end the leaks and bursts that have been habitual in this 1,757-metre section of pipeline. Motorists should feel the benefit too, as flooding problems have often affected traffic when the road between Benitachell and Javea has had to be closed.
Antoni Joan Bertomeu, Teulada-Moraira’s mayor and his Benitachell counterpart Josep Femenia both emphasised that residents in both towns will soon notice a significant improvement in the household supply.
