The Neater Heater way

BEHA: Electric convection radiators are Norwegian.

The Costa Blanca’s favourite Electric Heater:  Now available on the Costa Del Sol.

Neater Heater was created in 2008 from a “Victor Kiam” moment. Remember Victor? He was the Chairman of Remington who explained, after his morning shave:  “I liked the shaver so much that I bought the company.” Something similar happened to Tony and Cathy Sim when they installed some BEHA electric convection radiators in their home. Although not familiar to most Brits, BEHA is a household name to Norwegians, a nation that is renowned for quality, efficiency, and the desire to stay warm in winter!

As Tony explains: “After several winters of trying to battle the cold with just our Log Burning Stove, and a Gas Estuffa, we had started to heat our bedrooms with electric radiators.  After spending, and usually wasting, quite a bit of money on several electric heaters on the market at the time, we realized that any system  that was remotely economic to run cost an arm and a leg to install, and anything cheap to buy was either useless or cost an arm and a leg to run. It looked as if we were doomed to freezing bathrooms, chilly corridors and cold bedrooms. Then we had a stroke of pure luck!”

“I was doing some work at the home of a Norwegian friend of ours. They had BEHA heaters, that they had brought over from Norway, which were slim and neat and warming their lounge up beautifully. We decided to install some in our villa, which was not easy as no-one in Spain sold BEHA products at that time. They were fantastic. They cost us less than a third of the price of the “economic” wall mounted radiators you see in most electrical shops, and they have similar running costs. We also found that once the rooms were warm, the thermostat was continually working to keep them turned off!”

“The most notable improvement was to our son’s homework. We had been heating his bedroom with an “eco-heater”. However, after an hour-or-so he would appear in the lounge with his hoodie and gloves on, too cold to concentrate. The day we put a Neater Heater in his bedroom we checked up on him after an hour, and he was in his tee-shirt working away quite happily. We were astonished at the difference. Especially when we discovered it was costing us less to keep him warm than it had been costing us to keep him cold!”

Four years later, and with a string of outlets selling Neater Heaters in Alicante and Murcia, Richard and Tony are now able to expand into the Costa Del Sol due to their partnership with MRW couriers. “We needed to ensure that we could offer our customers a good service.” explains Richard “MRW enable us to offer a next day delivery service. This allows us to not only offer prompt delivery, but to offer an efficient, after-sales, customer support service as well. ”
