VISITORS: More have visited Nerja this year.
NERJA is the town of the Axarquia where the number of visitors increased the most in the first nine months of the year.
According to data provided by the National Statistics Institute, the number of people visiting Nerja increased by 11.31 per cent from January to September this year.
This makes Nerja not just top of the list in the Axarquia for an increase in visitors, but the second on the coast of Malaga.
The National Statistics Institute has also provided information about visitors to the Costa del Sol.
Fuengirola leads this list with a 14.53 per cent increase, followed by Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Estepona.
Overall, the number of visitors to the Costa del Sol increased by 136, 496, or 4.21 per cent more than last year.
