Local hotels’ better figures

HOTELS on the Costa Tropical are facing a traditionally difficult month with encouraging figures. According to the Costa Tropical Hotel Owners Association, hotels have occupancy rates of about 75 per cent at the start of September.

They even expect full occupancy in the first two weekends of the month. From families enjoying special offers to couples with no children, the tourist profile gradually changes throughout the month of September.

This change is especially apparent from September 10, the day on which children go back to school. From that day on hotel owners are especially worried about the weather, as rains can make visitors cancel their reservations.

Bahia Tropical Hotel manager Pedro Molina stands for a delay of the day the school year starts as a way to support hotels. Among the advantages tourists find when booking their holidays in September are mild temperatures, less crowded beaches and better prices.

Four and three stars hotels on the Costa Tropical apply discounts of up to 12 per cent in relation to the peak tourist season. These discounts attract German and Polish tourist avoiding conflicts in Middle Eastern countries to the Costa Tropical.
