Queues of people waiting for a job
For the fifth consecutive month, July registered a further drop in unemployment in Spain reported Spain’s Labour Ministry. This comes as the busy summer tourist season continued to create jobs.
The statement continued to say that the total number of jobless fell by 64,866 leaving the number now at 4.69 million who are unemployed. The percentage of unemployed is now 26.3.
The last time this happened was in 2007 just at the start of the economic crisis. Going back as far as the beginning of the year, the number of people unemployed had dropped by 149,909.
However, this could just be something seasonal. The figures may change by the end of summer.
