Nurses who need to be taught compassion are a no no

SO, while the workers in Britain’s illustrious NHS were cavorting around in Danny Boyles’ Olympic opening ceremony – an event considered by many as one of the most blatant left wing propaganda exercises since the efforts of Karl Marx and Lenin – patients were dying in their thousands.

Just the sort of hypocrisy one has come to expect from those who would throw us all back to the days of the industrial revolution.

Now we hear that the authorities are about to publish a nurse’s guide that apparently includes the advice for them to ‘use compassion!’

Frankly if someone who was being considered for a nursing position needed to be taught compassion, I would think they were about as equipped for the job as Cyclops for a spec savers ad.

They are also to be reminded to be ‘kind and considerate to their patients’. Good lord, what sort of people have they been recruiting for these jobs over the past number of years? What level of screening and interviewing has been in place to sift out those applicants who are appropriate and those who are not?

And what is even more to the point what sort of training and experience do those who conduct these potential health workers interviews and examinations retain? If the examiners themselves have no compassion or consideration, how can they be expected to detect the lack of it in those they are considering for these positions?

I bet none of  ‘em would have got past Ms. Nightingale, who I would think has now been spinning in her resting place for so long she has probably bored her way to Australia!

It is all an absolute disgrace.

As a final boggle up of the week I can’t resist the announcement by the Americans that they didn’t consider the military takeover in Egypt was actually a coup! If a democratically elected leader is ousted by a military intervention, who then take over control of the country is not an actual coup this ol’ boy has most definitely lost track of the whole plot! I dunno, sometimes I really do despair of it all – but then you all know that!
