Take a fresh look at tourism – survey in Mallorca

THE season’s perspectives are starting positively. The majority of people think that this summer many tourists will visit the Balearic Islands.

However, at the same time, they consider that they need better structures for tourism.

A survey by the Gadeso Foundation – which has concentrated on tourism and has carried out 900 questionnaires – has found out that 83.5 per cent think that the tourist season will be the same as last year.

That means it will be a very good year for the industry and another 14 per cent think it will be even better.

Predictions are based primarily on the occupancy of hotels as they are 20 per cent better than 2012.

Throughout the Balearic public, there is not that much of a mixed view about where there needs to be growth or where the budget should be spent. Even though there are different areas where they want to strengthen, it is clear that they all want tourism to shine in their province.
