FARM THIEVES: Stolen machinery is recovered in police operation.
FOUR stolen tractors and numerous items of farm machinery have been recovered by police.
A spate of robberies from farms and properties in Alcoy, Cocentaina and Muro de Alcoy led police to launch an investigation.
Their surveillance operation led them to a gang of 10 people who were allegedly involved in the crimes. The stolen items were being packed ready to be taken to Romania for sale on the black market. The gang allegedly stole from properties and hid the machinery alongside the road waiting for their truck to arrive to load it up.
Police arrested five of the men for theft while the other five were charged with loading the stolen machinery on to the trailers.
