TOBACCO SEIZED: Police examine the contraband.
GUARDIA CIVIL seized more than 2.6 million packs of cigarettes when they dismantled a major international cigarette smuggling and money laundering organisation.
In a joint operation carried out in several Spanish provinces, including Cadiz, Malaga, Cordoba and Sevilla, as well as in Portugal, France and Belgium named Cumpai, 13 people have been arrested.
Ten are Spanish, one British, one Irish and one Belgian, reported the Guardia Civil. Officers confiscated 2.6 million packs of cigarettes, and €50,000 cash.
