A JUDGE has embargoed the shares that Qatari Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasir Al Thani had in the company created for the enlargement of La Bajadilla Port in Marbella.

The court has embargoed his 97 per cent share in the temporary company which was created with Marbella City Hall to enlarge and manage the port. The 3 per cent share of the city hall is not affected.

This comes following a request from an architects’ studio which has sued the Sheikh, owner of Malaga football club, for €3.8 million for the plans for the work.

Meanwhile, the Andalucian Public Ports Agency has gone ahead with the procedure to cancel the contract awarded to the Sheikh to carry out the project.

In a letter to the Public Ports Agency from the architects, they reveal that they have found an investor willing to go ahead with the project under the current terms of the contract.
