Record-breaking EWN – Battling tough economic times with 592 pages in week!

THE Euro Weekly News’s (EWN) normal editorial policy is to report the local news, but not be the story itself. But today EWN is proud to report that with 592 pages across its six editions, the record-breaking newspaper is in these extremely tough economic times rightly in the world of free newspapers and local businesses making headline news itself.

Never before – even when economies were booming around the world – has any local newspaper in Spain been so successful.

EWN distributes 134,000 copies each week through six separate local editions produced for the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca North, Costa Blanca South, Almeria, Axarquia and Mallorca.

No other Spanish or English language free newspaper offers such a service week in, week out, 52 weeks of the year, and this has led to the EWN being the chosen local newspaper read by more than half-a-million people every week.

Such foundations have over many years led to the newspaper becoming the Number One with both readers and advertisers.

EWN: Everyone gets it.

Despite the present harsh realities of life throughout Spain with companies daily going bankrupt, record unemployment, and all firms – along with families – forced to continually look carefully at budgets, the EWN proudly continues to go from strength to strength.

This week’s record-breaking 592 pages is made up by the following paginations within its distribution footprint from the Costa Blanca in the north down to the Costa del Sol and Gibraltar in the south, and inland from Axarquia to the island of Mallorca:

Costa del Sol – 176 pages

Costa Blanca South – 104 pages

Costa Blanca North – 88 pages

Mallorca – 88 pages

Almeria – 72 pages

Axarquia – 64 pages

The present record-breaking pagination is due to a small but totally dedicated multi-cultural EWN staff  from Head Office on the Costa del Sol to all branch offices located strategically across its distribution footprint. The editorial staff includes former international journalists and ex-Fleet Street professionals, while commercially EWN boasts some of the best salespeople around.

Each staff member has been recruited for insatiable work ethic, their professionalism and experience, and all-important local knowledge.

As current holders of the Company of the Year title presented as part of the Costa del Sol Business Awards, the EWN aims to reach ever higher. Resting on past achievements and the newspaper’s laurels is not an option. While 592 pages is a huge achievement, the bar has now been set to achieve greater success through even bigger editions in the future.

But as the EWN team of professionals sets about serving readers, advertisers and the community at large with even bigger editions in the future, a huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone reading this latest news for entrusting us with the responsibility.
