Russian tour agents visit Mallorca

DURING May and June more than 700 Russian travel agents will visit establishments that the Barcelo hotel chain has in Mallorca. Indications are that the Russian market has come to Mallorca and the Barcelo Hotels and Resorts to stay, says the company.

On the island it is classing the Russian tourist market as the third most important, after the German and the British. According to the regional director of the Balearic Islands of Barcelo Hotels and Resorts, Pep Canals, there are three main reasons for the increase in tourists from Russia.

Firstly the increase in air connections from Russia to Mallorca, secondly the hotels have had hotel menus, stationary and information cards translated into Russian and thirdly they have employed Russian speaking staff.
