Sportier Lancia set for Barcelona motor show

THE new Lancia Delta S will be presented at next week’s Barcelona motor show. Firmly targeted at younger men it features a sportier look from MOMODESIGN and high-end performance.

It will offer a wide range of high-performance engines in Italy, although whether the full range will be offered in Spain is as yet not known

Top of the range engine will be the 190 HP 1.9 Twin Turbo MultiJet, the engine at the top of its category owing to its out-and-out sporty performance.

Room has also been made for the 120 HP 1.6 MultiJet, a perfect example of the ‘downsizing’ construction philosophy that combines brilliant torque with low fuel consumption, and 120 HP 1.4 Turbo Jet LPG, the only Turbo LPG engine in its category, eco-friendly but agile, with a range of over 1,400 km.

Completing the offer is the 120 HP 1.4 Turbo Jet petrol engine boasting low running costs.

With the 1.9 engine it will hit a top speed of 222kph and race from zero to 100kph in eight seconds.

It is designed as a more compact version of the two-year-old Delta, and features the small grill from the Lancia Ypsilon, 18 inch wheels and a dual exhaust system. Prices are expected to start from €23,500.
