Barcelona’s bi-ennial motorshow starting next week

BARCELONA: The scene at the 2011 motorshow.

IT is Spain’s turn to take centre stage in the car world with Barcelona’s bi-ennial motorshow starting next week. Running from Thursday (for trade and press) it opens to the public from Saturday, May11, until May 19.

As usual it is timed to coincide with the city’s F1 Grand Prix week. All the main car manufacturers will be represented, with two world and four European premieres promised to Spanish car enthusiasts.

There is a huge programme of events lined up, but of course cars are taking centre stage. The show will feature a special display to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Car of the Year prize.

Organisers are planning of having all 50 winners of the prestigious award together at the show, from the very first winner – the Rover 2000- to the latest seventh generation VW Golf. More information: http://www.salonautomovil.com/en.
