Fishing thieves arrested and Professional fishing equipment recovered in Santa Pola

The Guardia Civil arrested two people on suspicion of theft of fishing nets in Guardamar del Segura. More than 1,200 metres of professional fishing nets and around 400 hooks were recovered in a joint operaton with police in Santa Pola.

After investgations and interviews with various fishermen’s associations in the area, a boat using similar equipment to that which was stolen was seen operating in Santa Pola. Two Spaniards were arrested.
