PRIZE DRAW: Luis Aragon with the shirt signed by the Granada CF players.

THE Almuñecar Association of Families of Alzheimer’s Sufferers, Afavida, has raised €1,715. The association held a draw with the help of Granada football club which donated one of the club’s shirts, signed by the players, as a prize.

The supporters’ club, Peña Mississippi, the Municipal Sports board and the football club all collaborated and donated four tickets for a match as a prize.

The prizewinner, Lea Medina Perez, was presented with the prizes by Luis Aragon, the sports councillor, the president of Afavida, Ana Maria Gurrero, and the treasurer of the Peña Mississippi, Luis Lujan.

The president of Afavida said that Lea Medina was a ‘tireless helper of the association who was always there when he was needed to help out’.

Lea Medina emphasized the importance of the work carried out by Afavida. “I have suffered the effects of this illness in my family,’ he said, ‘and it is important to have the back up of people who have gone through the same thing.”

Medina took advantage of the occasion to encourage more people to support the group.
