Mustang Ranch Brothel
TEMPERATURES were raised once again at a former landmark brothel when fire took hold.
Firemen are investigating the cause of the blaze in the old Mustang Ranch in Palma.
Drivers on the city’s Via Cintura called police as a thick plume of black smoke drifted across the road obscuring visibility.
The building which has since been converted into a restaurant offering menus at €5, was on fire at about 2pm on Tuesday.
As police started getting numerous calls from locals saying they could see smoke rising from the building in Almancer in Palma they dispatched fire engines and police to the scene.
The smoke was so intense that as the smoke drifted in the wind it made visibility difficult on the Via Cintura.
Several units from the Palma fire station rushed to the scene. Because of the density of the smoke firemen had to use breathing apparatus.
Police sealed of the street as a precaution to allow the fire trucks to move.
The blaze was located in an annex to the building where a large amount of wood was stored.
It took over an hour to bring the blaze under control. Some of the firemen remained in case the fire re-kindled. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
