ON WATCH: Police looking out for pick-pockets.
THE National Police in Palma have arrested four men accused of targeting tourists to pick-pocket.
Those robbed were tourists staying in hotels in the area. Police said that the four accused are probably members of a group of Romanians that comes to Mallorca every year at the start of the holiday season.
They allegedly follow tourists back to their hotels and, with either a bag or a jacket, enter the lifts of the hotel with the tourists inside. Once in close proximity they allegedly pick-pocket them before running out of the hotel to a waiting hire van with an accomplice inside to make their getaway.
One of the arrested admitted to stealing €990 from one victim by using their bank card, say police.
