Winning day for Captain Brian in Almeria

Captain Brian Saunders, left, receiving the trophy from President John Sephton.

ON an overcast and very windy Sunday the President and Captain’s teams from Cabrera Lawn Bowls Clubtook to the green.

Captain Brian Saunders had thought out some novel bowling games for this annual event.  President John Sephton informed the players of both teams that this year’s charity was MACs and that the proceeds from the raffle and €2 donations from each player would be going to help this deserving charity.

After two games the Captain’s team had a very healthy lead and after lunch the skies darkened the third game ‘rotational triples’ was played but then the heavens opened and only one end of the ‘Hawaiian slide’ was played before everyone made a dash for the welcoming club house.

There the presentation of the trophies won over the past year was held, and a barbeque and entertainment night held.
