BENITACHELL Bowls Club took on El Cid at home in the Winter League took on.
The Berleen Team had a good win, 19 shots to 11, to take two points. The Winter League team also fared better than of late and managed two goods wins and a draw but had to share the points, five each.
The sun shone and it was warm when the Lions were away to El Cid and roared to a 9-1 win to become the Northern League winners with a game in hand.
On the same day the Jaguars played Calpe at home. Against strong opposition they could only manage two points, but their friendly team won 19-12.
Tigers’ last home game of the season dawned bright and sunny for a tough game against Javea Onyx. who are fourth in the Northern League.
The main team won three of their games but a big disappointment was the Challengers, who had been on top of their league, losing in the final stages. Final result was 8 – 2 points and 80 – 67 shots.
On the social scene this week Saturday night was full of ‘Passion and Crime’ with ‘gangsters and their molls’ dancing to music by Barry Peters.
