Cruise ships bringing thousands of tourists to Malaga port

Malaga port popular with cruise ships

As of today April 1, Malaga port is expecting their busiest month so far this year. A total of 37 cruise ships are expected to dock in the port, bringing more than 60,000 passengers into the region.

 Other busy days scheduled are April 13 and 16, when three cruise liners are expected to dock, bringing thousands of visitors to the area.

On April 20  five cruise ships are expected.  The five ships are ‘Costa Neoromantica’, ‘Carnival Legend’, ‘Sea Cloud’, ‘Grand Mistral’ and ‘Corinthia’, three of them are of the largest capacity, with a total of more than 6,000 passengers aboard each one.

A spectacular cruise ship, the ‘Sea Cloud’ will be calling into Malaga as part of its cruise from Lisbon in Portugal.

The four masted ship was built in 1931 as a private yacht for a Wall Street stock broker, before being converted into a cruise ship in 1978. The Sea Cloud will be in port from 8.30am to 5.30pm on the April 20.
