Ryanair new route to Alicante
Ryanair announced this morning their new route from Shannon to Alicante. Earlier this year the airline increased its flights to Palma and Malaga.
Shannon Airport Authority (SAA) and Ryanair have been looking into the possibility of two weekly return flights and have every confidence the new route will be a success.
The company has seen a decline in flights from Shannon since 2008 but hope that separating from the Dublin Airport Authority will improve the range of services they can offer.
‘Alicante was at the top of our list in terms of destinations we wanted to secure and we are delighted now that Ryanair has come on board with the service. There is significant demand for additional services at Shannon and our job is to work as hard and as competitively as we can to ensure we deliver those. We will work closely with Ryanair with a view to ensuring the success of its existing routes and growing its services out of Shannon,’ SAA chairman Rose Hynes said.
