Málaga Club de Fútbol came away from the José Zorrilla Stadium with a 1-1 draw against Real Valladolid, in the 27th BBVA League match of the season. Both goals were scored in the first half, Demichelis put the Blue and Whites on the score board with a header in the 7th minute of play, following a Lucas Piazon free kick. Just before the half-time whistle, Manucho got the equaliser with a header following a left wing cross. Málaga failed to score in the second half, despite a strong determination to come home with a victory. Midfielder, Pedro Morales made his official debut with the Blue and Whites tonight.

Both Joaquín and Isco weren’t part of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s starting-11 at the José Zorrilla.  Manuel Pellegrini’s team took the lead soon after kick-off, with a Demichelis header following a free kick by Lucas Piazon in the 7th minute.  This was the Argentinean-born defender’s fourth goal of the season, which he dedicated to his father who recently passed away.

Both teams made numerous inaccuracies as the game went on, with the home side creating very few chances to equalise.  However it was Manucho who headed the ball into the back of the net just before half-time.  Minutes earlier he elbowed Demichelis in the face during a tackle, for which he wasn’t punished by the referee.

Goal chances were in short supply in the second half, although Real Valladolid did come close to taking the lead.  Manucho only just missed a cross from Larsson in the penalty area.  Málaga’s Seba and Isco joined the match, although the Blue and Whites failed to cause any real trouble for local keeper, Dani Hernández.  Chilean-born midfielder, Pedro Morales made his debut with the ‘Malaguistas’ tonight.  Despite a very willing performance by the visitors, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
