HALLS CLOSED: More than €3,500 was seized from the two illegal poker venues in Mijas and Estepona
TWO illegal poker halls were closed in Mijas and Estepona by National Police. The police seized €3,975, gaming items, poker tables and audiovisual equipment
The establishments, one located at a shopping centre and the other in a pub, had illegal games at several tables and online the Junta de Andalucia Government Delegation in Malaga reported.
At the time of the arrest on the Molino del Viento urbanisation in Mijas, 30 people were in the establishment. Police seized €1,775.
At the second, more recent closure, 26 people were in the establishment and €2,200 was seized.
The owners of the establishments and the organisers of the events could be fined up to €30,000.
Poker games and tournaments are only legal in authorised casinos.
