HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Women of fire co-founders Vicki Riley (left) and Christine Quinlan celebrate the groups second birthday

WOMEN OF FIRE business group has celebrated its second birthday.

Over 40 female entrepreneurs came together to mark the occasion at their monthly meeting, held at Let’s Eat Restaurant, Benimar.

Co-founders Vicki Riley and Christine Quinlan, said Women of Fire is a non-profit making business and networking group exclusively for women either working, running their own business or thinking of setting up a business in Spain.

They aim to bring together women in a friendly and supportive environment. “Business has changed over the years and we want to bring together women for informal networking and to make it fun,” said Vicki.

“People come to enjoy a nice meal, to talk to people and to make contacts and hopefully do business” added Christine.

Maxine Biddiscombe and Vanessa Sorrell made the hour’s journey from Javea to be at their first Women of Fire lunch after hearing about the group. “I am a member of Women in Business Association in Javea,” said Maxine, “and I have come further south to meet new women and to show my Swarovski crystal jewellery to a wider audience. I do find these groups quite beneficial and when you are running your own business you have to do as much as you can to get your name out there.”
