WHEN will commercial companies think of their customers first?
I believe Mercadona is the best supermarket chain in Spain. But while they may look after their customers at the counter, I am not convinced of their concerns for clients overall.
A friend recently found herself robbed in the car park of the La Cala de Mijas shop, when another “shopper” in a nearby car distracted her by seeking help. Minutes later she discovered her handbag had been stolen off her front car seat. Mercadona staff were full of concern, but when she sought security camera shots – thefts I know have taken place in the car park previously – she faced a general “we don´t care” attitude. Signs – in Spanish and English – should be erected in shop car parks warning people to take care, and additionally, security cameras should be installed to ensure when a crime is committed, perhaps the culprits can be caught.
