€1.49m plan to attract Malaga tourists

Malaga - big plans for tourism

MALAGA is teaming up with other Andalucian capitals and Madrid in a €1.49 million tourism plan.

The cities are planning 160 promotional activities in 30 countries worldwide.

Malaga Tourism Board is targeting long-distance markets such as the United States, Japan, Russia, Brazil and India, as well as european countries.

The Costa del Sol capital will be promoted to tourists who want to stay at least one week, looking for a whole Andalucian experience.

That is why MalagaCity Hall has agreed to team up with Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba to offer a joint tourism plan.

Malaga will be presented to potential tourists as “the gateway to Andalucia, thanks to the airport and the cruise ship terminal,” Andalucia Tourism Managing Director Javier Hernandez said. The city will also take advantage of the high-speed railway connections with Madrid to attract more visitors.

Besides participation in the main tourism international trade shows in Madrid, New York, Berlin and London, the plan also includes a re-launch of website malagaturismo.com. An online programme called ‘Enganchate a Malaga’ (Get hooked on Malaga) will feature promotional videos and newsletters.
