Burglary numbers down.
THERE were fewer burglaries reported in Palma last year, but more on the rest of the island.
According to official figures published by internet daily Ultima Hora, while there were 1,195 business and 213 house burglaries in Palma in 2011, just 869 store and 131 house burglaries were reported last year.
Of those just six per cent of cases were solved. However, for the rest of Mallorca Island, there were significantly more burglaries reported last year than in 2011 due to a more spread out population as well as an allegedly insufficient number of Guardia Civil and Local Police officers, said the website.
