MATCHA tea is this year’s ‘super food.’
The vivid green powdered tea was first drunk during the Song Dynasty in China and now, nearly 1,000 years after its heyday, it is back as a health food thanks to its high levels of antioxidants.
Once picked, Matcha is ground by hand into a fine, talc-like powder that can be taken in many different ways.
The caffeine content is higher than regular green tea but lower than coffee and it is reputed to help reduce stress and weight-loss.
