THE demand for electric vehicles in the Balearic Islands keeps growing despite the 2013 regional purchasing incentives pending approval by the central government.
Renault-Dibauto dealer Amador Garcias states that “there is increasing demand for electric cars because of the region’s climate and distances. In our case, Renault, as a general car manufacturer, deciding to invest in 100 per cent electric technology supporting sustainable mobility is remarkable taking into account the current economic recession and the additional effort required by customers when purchasing one of these vehicles.” In Baleares there are electric vehicle-charging locations in Soller, Cala D’Or, Binissalem, Sa Cabaneta, Marratxi as well as eight in Palma alone.
