Torrevieja getting bigger

TORREVIEJA just keeps on growing.

According to population statistics, the city has continually seen an increase in residents over the years.  It starts 2013 with 107,009 registered inhabitants, up from 105,270 in 2011, of which 53.6 per cent are of foreign origin.

It makes it the area with the largest population growth in the Valencian Community and means Torrevieja is the third largest city in the province of Alicante behind Alicante and Elche.

Despite talk of ex-pats returning to the UK, official figures show that there were 41 more British registered in the municipality compared to 2011. That puts the UK contingent of the city at 13,226 residents.
