MIJAS Urban Works Councillor Manuel Navarro alerted property owners when asking for a works license quote. He said that the Council has found many cases of estimates being lower than those established by the official associations.
“We want these actions to be over. It leads to delays when granting licenses. When we are provided a works estimate that is priced lower than the official rates, we ask for more paperwork,” Navarro said.
He reminded that there is actually a public tax (called ‘tasa de actuaciones urbanisticas’), stating the indicative estimates for each type of work.
Navarro also reminded that, since December, works charged under €1,000 are not required to pay the license fee.
