THE Mayor of Santiago de Compostela, Angel Curras, has been charged with corruption.
The conservative Partido Popular mayor and his Cabinet Chief, Francisco Castro.
have been charged in the ‘Pokemon’ investigation into alleged in irregularities the assignation of work to different companies, In Santiago the investigation has focused on the Vendex Group.
They are just two out of a group of Galicia politicians charged in the investigation, with the mayors of Ourense, Francisco Rodriguez, and Boqueixon, in La Coruña, Adolfo Gacio, also charged. They have both resigned, while Curras says he does not intend to do so the same as the Mayor of Lugo, Jose Clemente Lopez.
