RABBITS that live indoors will have a higher quality of life and will live longer; for 10 to 15 years. If kept outside in a hutch, they are subject to predators and stresses from the weather. One suggestion is to have an area penned-off, so the rabbit can move around more freely and get more exercise. Installing tile in the area will prevent damage to hardwood floors or carpets. It is important to allow the rabbit out of its cage at least a couple of times a day, that way they can hop and play and do all the things bunnies like to do.
