Gipsy attack raises doctor safety fears

SIX trade unions representing Mallorca public health service workers have asked for protection from violent patients and their families.

They want Ib-Salut health authorities to set out a plan of preventative measures against abusive members of the public.

The move comes following an attack on three doctors and a nurse at Son Espasses University Hospital in Palma by a family of gipsies after they were told a relative had died of a heart attack.
