PLANT it and it will grow seems to be the maxim among Almeria farmers. September figures for agricultural exports show astonishing growth in every facet, so much so the province now accounts for 40 per cent of all Spanish vegetable sales abroad.
The biggest overseas client is Germany, which buys 28 per cent of vegetables, while Britain was the fourth best, with 12 per cent. Turn to page 26 for more on Almeria exports.
