ASSISTANCE: Draining of homes, garages and businesses was also performed by Malaga firemen.
A TOTAL of €800,000 will be paid by the Malaga Provincial Government for repairing 200 to 250 km of roads. Damages caused by last weekend’s storms included different areas in the province.
A second stage for road cleaning will lead to another public investment. After last Saturday’s storms, firemen and other safety operatives did 63 interventions in the province, especially in the Axarquia and inland areas. The draining and cleaning made it possible to reopen five out of the six roads closed to traffic due to floods or landslides. The Benamocarra to Almachar road was still closed, at press time.
