Sitting on your wallet can twist your spine
CLOTHING is injuring millions of Brits each year.
One in two adults said they suffer aches, pains or injuries from items such as handbags, bras, belts and hats. The British Osteopathic Association (BOA) published the data which said poor fitting bras are a source of back pain for many women along with heavy bags causing discomfort in the neck, back and shoulders.
Men were likely to suffer from back pain after keeping their wallet in their back pocket. The pelvis sits on the wallet and, overtime, the spine twists. Overly tight hats can cause vascular compression and sunglasses can cause neck extension, headaches and neck pain. The BOA also warned women that ballet pumps are almost as dangerous as high heels, while flip flops can result in claw toe and toe pain.
