TEMPORARY: The current fire station should eventually be replaced by a new building.
THE fire brigade in Nerja will increase their staff from nine to 15 firemen. The temporary fire station – located in the roundabout leading to Burriana beach – will be then expanded with new rooms and a gym.
A new fire station building is still pending for a decision by the Andalucian Government. In 2008, Nerja Town Hall ceded a land plot for this purposes to the Malaga government, but the project is still on hold.
