Axarquia peak covered in white

THE first snows of the season in Malaga province were spotted in La Maroma peak. This is the highest spot – 2,068 metres – in the Sierras Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park, in the Axarquia region. 

The temperature drop, heightened by the strong winds last weekend made the rainfalls turn into snow flakes. Most of the snow has since melted, but it may be back again if the weather gets worse. Snow had not fallen in these mountains since last May.
