JAVEA GREEN PLAYERS WIN THE INDALO INVITATION RINKS

Indalo Invitation Rinks Winners: Jan and Paul Brown, Tony McKenna and Mick Johnson

JAVEA Green Bowls players came out on top at the Indalo Invitational Rinks tournament. The popular competition attracted 128 bowlers from throughout Spain, plus one visiting team from England.
Unfortunately one day was lost to the weather.

Javea players were represented in both teams in the finals. Lyn and Dave Greenland from Greenlands bowls club joined Chris Evans and Clive English from Javea against Jan Brown, Paul Brown and Tony McKenna (Javea) playing with Mick Johnson from Indalo.
Clive English and Mick Johnson both won their semi-finals comfortably. In the final Mick Johnsons’ team were always in command and won by a score of 13 shots to 6.

Northern League

Finca Guila Swifts v Javea Opals
Javea Opals travelled to Finca Guila on Monday, October 29, and probably wished they had
stayed in bed, losing 0-10. Not much to be said but no doubt with the team spirit present in the Opals team they will bounce back next week.
Javea Onyx v Calpe

Monday, October 29, was another very good day for the Onyx, the team recording its fourth successive victory, the score 93-41 and 8 points to Onyx, 2 to Calpe.
Derek and Olive Lutz and Tony Hesketh-Field had a comfortable 33-8 win. Dennis and Chris Reeves and Phil Harding ran out winners 23-7. Ken Ayling, David Gardiner and Jim Menzies also won well 23-7. Well done Onyx.

Winter League
Javea Green v Vistabella
On Wednesday, October 31, after a bad day at the office last week, our winter league bounced back to record a score of 84-53 and ten points. The Berleen team also won by 28-13 to complete a clean sweep for Javea Green.
