THE Government Sub-Delegation in Almeria has detected that the number of cases of gender violence has stabilised over the past three years.
So far this year, there have been 1,491 official complaints, 47 more than two years ago. There have been no fatalities this year, but in both 2010 and 2011 there were eight deaths in the first 10 months of the year.
However, there has been a significant rise in the number of reports of gender violence against minors, with just three in 2010 and 11 so far this year. The highest number of reports is amongst victims aged between 23 and 34, followed by women between 25 and 44.
