FRAUD PHARMACY: One of the drugs sold to the black market was Rubifen.
THREE pharmacists were held by the Civil Guard in the towns of San Pedro de Alcantara and Almargen for allegedly charging pensioners more than €500,000 in medications, without notifying. The suspects would later sell the expensive medications – usually cancer drugs – on the black market, as they are proven to enhance athletes’ performance. During the raids, the Civil Guard also seized medications worth €60,000. A number of doctors in the Malaga province have also been interviewed.
