THE mayor of Fines, Rodrigo Sanchez, has been charged with corruption regarding the purchase of a house. The mayor was reported to Almeria Provincial Prosecutors Office by the local Socialist party, which has in turn reported him to a court in Purchena.
The prosecutor in charge of the case has claimed there is evidence of corruption in events dating back to 2007 when a company which was run by his brother and of which the mayor was an associate, purchased a house in Fines for €24,000. In January 2009, it was sold to the town hall for €72,000.
