Counting cost of €650,000 flooding

THE floods caused €650,000 damage in Torrox last month, it has now been estimated.
Most of the damage caused was to roads, especially in rural areas, with this amounting to around €550,000.
Other expenses incurred included beach cleaning and repairing and cleaning municipal facilities, including the swimming pool, which filled with run-off mud.
Road repairs are the priority, said Francisco Muñoz, the Torrox mayor, as infrastructure damage “seriously hinders the agricultural sector.”
